"Like a sad machine, dying"

This is a beautiful track from the soundtrack of Synecdoche, New York. I am a real sucker for piano solos like this. The electronic sounds in the background turn the track into a whole different experience for me. They 'sparkle' as if to say everything moves beautifully, in one way or another.

  1. Yes, this was a totally amazing, moving piece. Added such texture to Kaufman's film. I just recently saw it, about two ago, actually. The song reminds me of something the Icelandic band Mum might do! Music is where I normally start when I want to write a script or just an outline of a story. I think in images, but music helps get me there. When I'm writing, I normally find one or two tracks and put them on repeat so I can get into the "zone" and the feeling/look/theme of the film I would want to make. (I'm going to add your blog URL to my blogroll at http://www.herfilm.wordpress.com).
